Good morning from the desert of Arizona. I’ve never spent any length of time in the desert. Our home on wheels is parked at an RV Park that abuts BLM (Bureau Land Management), The Tucson Mountain Park and that neighbors the Saguaro National Park. The desert is prickly for sure but the more I ride my bike through it I see the softer side of it.

I want to know everything to know about the saguaro 🌵 They are huge and have such a regal presence. Last night we found one that had been hit by lightning. It looked traumatic and it was decaying. I’m pretty feral and have smelled my fair share of woodland rot. But the stench of a decaying saguaro was potent, not in a good way.

I’m attaching a bunch of pictures and waiting for some snow to find them.

Have a great day,

Marji
