We are half way through our stay in Belle Vista, AR. Marji is sick as a dog, and I'm just recovering. I tested early in my cold, and was negative for Covid-19, but then lost my taste a smell for a few days. So, we have been mostly sequestered away in the camper. I am feeling better, and managed to get out on the mountain bike yesterday. I won't say it was fun, but we came here for the trails, and I am hopeful to see a few.

We are experiencing humidity for the first time in a long time. It's sticky and nasty. It is amazing how quickly you adapt to the warm dry air of the desert.

When we stayed here in the fall, there were not a lot of folks in the campground, and the bike trails were active, but not unreasonably so. This week is school break, the campground is packed, and the trails are crazy busy. I'm not wild about all the people. Part of mountain biking for me is the solitude. There older cross-country trails to the north of us, and I managed to put a nice loop together out there yesterday afternoon, and saw no more than four other riders (all about my age). They are building something very special here, but it does not appeal to the misanthrope in me. I will say that it is great to see kids out on bicycles rather than shut inside in front of a video game.

We decided to take the loveseat / sleeper out of the back of the camper. We never use it, and it's the kind of bed you give to someone who you don't want hanging around more than one night. Our friend Louis took it off our hands. So, now I have a real work space that I can leave up while we're stopped. It's a huge improvement.

Saturday morning we depart for St. Louis, and then on to Salvisa, KY. We'll be there for a work week. Not much to do there, so it should be some downtime and work time.
